Andrew and Madelaine met in October 2021 when their friends Brittany and Craig arranged for them to walk down the aisle together at their Thanksgiving wedding. They exchanged a few messages on Bumble in the days leading up to the big day, and Andrew says he knew he was going to marry Madelaine the moment they met!

Their first official date was at the Black Dog in Bayfield the following week, before an emotional goodbye when Madelaine flew back to Vancouver, BC, where she was living at the time. Despite the distance, they kept in touch with daily texts and phone calls, and just a few weeks later, Andrew flew out west for a long weekend. The moment Madelaine met him at the airport, she knew he was the one, too.

They spent that first Christmas navigating COVID restrictions, bundled up and chatting three metres apart in Andrew’s garage. By New Year’s Eve, they’d made the decision: Madelaine would start planning her move back to Ontario. She moved into Andrew’s home in Seaforth in March 2022, and shortly afterward, they adopted a rescue dog named Honey (a.k.a. Doodoo or Doodie), who quickly became the centre of their world.

From moving trucks and garden overhauls to home renovations and hockey games; from Banff to Newfoundland, Detroit to New York City, Andrew and Madelaine are building a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. Some of their favourite moments are the simplest ones: walking Honey, planning their next getaway, or unwinding at the end of the day with a good IPA.

They can't wait to spend forever together!
